Eating Through Cancer ("we", "us", "our") is a trading name of The Health Nutritionist This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you shop with us, sign up to our list, or download a meal plan.

We are the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we don't store full card details) Providers we use are WIX and Square Payments.
Health-related information you voluntarily share, e.g. via product descriptions you select, dietary notes at checkout, or contact form messages

Why we collect it and our lawful basis

To fulfil and deliver your order — performance of a contract
To send order confirmations, delivery updates, and handle customer service queries — performance of a contract
Accounting and tax records — legal obligation
Marketing emails, only if you opt in — consent
Personalising product recommendations — legitimate interest, never using special category health data for this without consent

Sensitive/health data Because our products relate to cancer and treatment side-effects, information you share with us about your or a loved one's diagnosis or treatment stage is treated as special category data under UK GDPR. We only collect what you choose to tell us (e.g. selecting a hamper described for "during chemo"), we never require a diagnosis to be disclosed, and we don't use this information for anything beyond fulfilling your order and improving our products, without your explicit consent.

How long we keep it Order and payment records: [6 years, per HMRC requirements]. Marketing data: until you unsubscribe. Contact form enquiries not converted to an order: [12 months].
